There are 4 open seats.

David Beal, Architect/Owner; David A. Beal & Associates: Established in 1979, David A. Beal & Associates is a Boulder based architectural firm that has designed a wide variety of building types. With each project, strict attention has been given not only to the unique aesthetic and functional needs of the owners, but also to the sustainability of the project. Our main objective has always been to offer alternative sustainable and energy saving solutions to the designs we provide. In Boulder and throughout Colorado, the alternatives are slowly but most certainly becoming the standard. The years only of dreaming of efficient, livable, sustainable, energy efficient and comfortable designs are now becoming years of realty. There is still work to be done, though, and people to educate and to convince. This is the “why” of why I want to serve on the board: to work towards the goal of advancing sustainable design and construction as a given, not just as an option. The “how” of how I will contribute to the implementation of BGBG's mission and vision comes in the form of a commitment to brainstorm with other members and to focus on how to disseminate information that is meaningful and understandable to the lay public. The members of our organization are already committed to its principles; now we must move our influence to those beyond our immediate circle. BGBG is a grassroots organization vital to our community and, by example, to the future of our country. Boulder and Colorado have always been in the forefront of these types of revolutions. I hope that I can contribute even more to this progress as a BGBG board member.

Ron Flax, Associate and Project Manager; Rodwin Architecture:I have worked passionately in the green building field for the last 14 years.  My experience is diverse, having worked for five years at McStain where I helped head up a variety of sustainable design initiatives, and for the last five years as an Associate and Project Manager at Rodwin Architecture.  The majority of my time has been spent on residential projects ranging from large LEED Platinum new construction (scoring the most points in the country at the time of its certification) to a modestly sized (affordable) Near Net Zero Energy Remodel that went from a HERS 190 to a 5, which comes extremely close to carbon neutrality.  I have a passion for the technical details of high performance green design, both in terms of energy as well as occupant well-being.  I teach the BGBG's Green Building 101 classes and I am about to start a series of Advanced Green Building Seminars this Spring.  I am a RESNET certified rater and a BPI certified building analyst and have Masters degrees in Liberal Studies and Architecture.  My involvement with the Guild over the last six years has been extremely rewarding, and I would love the opportunity to serve a second term.

Jonah Fruchter, SmartRegs Specialist; Populus LLC:Having been involved in Colorado's green building industry for several years, I am excited about joining the Colorado Green Building Guild's board. My nonprofit experience as a Sierra Club employee as well as my private sector experience working for Snugg Home Colorado is a natural transition into the board. I look forward to learning from the trainings and networking opportunities the board offer. As a board member, I hope to assist in growing the voice and power of the CGBG in order to more effectively advocate for stronger building regulations and policy that helps the industry to scale. I also look forward to using my nonprofit board and professional experience to help the organization expand and continue the important work already in place.

Tim Hillman, Director of Energy Services; Symbiotic Engineering.    Symbiotic Engineering, LLC:As Director of Energy Services at Symbiotic Engineering, I've been working to develop, promote and expand energy efficiency and renewable energy programs throughout Colorado and the country and I'm excited about the opportunity to dedicate more time and energy to helping BGBG expand into its new role to provide assistance in driving green building market growth throughout the state as the Colorado GBG. One strategic opportunity I see for CGBG is building off the work Symbiotic Engineering has done as the Recharge Colorado Steward.  Over the last two years, we've been actively working with numerous strategic stakeholders including: city, county, and state governments; energy utilities; lending institutions; and trade ally networks around the state to develop a self-sustaining entity that represents a tremendous energy efficiency, water and renewable energy asset to the state.  I believe that we have an incredibly unique opportunity to leverage the experience and success that BGBG has achieved to date with the groundwork that Recharge Colorado has laid on a statewide level to aggressively pursue the capacity building and market demand for green building practices necessary to drive the New Energy Economy in Colorado for generations to come.  Humbly, I thank you for considering my appointment.
