Building To Help Your Local Forests
Colorado Forest Products and Peak to Peak Wood will present "Building to
Help Your Local Forests" at the Feb. 9 brown bag luncheon meeting of the
Boulder Green Building Guild. The two wood utilization programs, largely funded by the Colorado State Forest Service (CSFS), will speak to the
availability of local wood products for building and energy, as well as
Front Range forest conditions, Mountain Pine Beetle infestation and
ongoing forest health and wildfire mitigation efforts. Presenters will
provide information allowing builders to find local materials that have a
direct and positive impact on Front Range forest and assist in mitigating
the effect of the Pine Beetle infestation. Information will also be
available on funding and the long-term outlook of biomass heating for
residential and commercial use.
Speakers:
Craig Jones, biomass specialist and program manager for Peak to Peak
Wood. Craig is a retired forester (CSFS) and served as the Woody
Biomass Program Manager for the Colorado Governor's Energy Office.
