Boulder County Build Smart and City of Boulder Green Points Code Update
Come learn about the revision process that it is currently undergoing
for Boulder County's BuildSmart program and the recent code changes to
the City of Boulder Green Points program to increase energy efficiency
for residential remodels and
additions. Doug Parker, the County's Sustainability Examiner, and Neil Poulsen, City of Boulder's Chief Building Official, will give
brief PowerPoint presentations on the different facets of programs.

Doug Parker was a contractor and Builder in Boulder County for over 30
years specializing in very energy efficient projects and solar homes
prior to joining the Boulder County Building Division last year as the
Sustainability Examiner.
Neil Poulsen has been the Chief building official with the city of Boulder Planning and Development Services for the last ten months. He was previously the Chief Building Official for the city of Bozeman, Montana for eleven years. In addition to 20 years of experience in building inspection jurisdictions Neil has another 20 years of experience in residential, industrial and commercial construction.
Mr. Poulsen has a Construction Technology Teaching Credential and has taught at the community college level for five years in adult education. He is an ICC Certified Building Official, Combination Inspector and Plans Examiner. He has spent a great deal of time over the years providing public education and training on code related compliance to assist the public in working through the jurisdictional process.
